In a nutshell, Affiliate marketing is simply a method where you can promote products or services for another company and earn commissions when a sale is made.

It is highly profitable and you can earn significant revenue once you’ve mastered affiliate marketing.

How to get started with Affiliate Marketing.

To get started with affiliate marketing there are a few steps you need to follow;

Firstly, you need to decide on a niche to focus on. This could be something you’re passionate about or it could be a niche that is popular or in demand at the time.

After you’ve picked your niche, you are going to need something to promote.

It might be a product you are already using and really like. In which case, find out if they have an affiliate program that you can sign up for so you can promote that product.

If you don’t have a product in mind, you can find many products or services to promote on sites like JVZoo, Clickbank or Warrior+. These are free to join.

Some things to keep in mind are that different companies pay different commission rates to their affiliates.

So when you are looking at a product or service to promote, keep this in mind. It should be part of your decision making process. You can find products that pay 20%, 50% or more in commissions.

In some instances, when you sign up for an affiliate program you might also need to wait for approval before you can promote their products.

Once you’ve found a product or service to promote and gotten your affiliate link, its time to setup your marketing method or funnel. Your marketing funnel is how you are going to promote your affiliate products.

This is one of the most important pieces that unsuccessful marketers miss. They send traffic directly to their affiliate links hoping to make a sale. The second is sending the wrong type of traffic. That is a recipe for failure.

To be successful, you must have targeted traffic to your offers. These are people that would be interested in what your offer is about. And you must have a good marketing funnel in place.

Before you send any traffic to your affiliate offers, you must pre-sell your prospects and this is where your marketing funnel comes in to play.

Now, marketing funnels can be very simple or very intricate. So if you’re just starting out, keep things as simple as you can.

To Start off, you would be to have something of value to give to your prospect for free. This is know as a lead magnet, which you offer to your prospect for free in exchange for their email address.

This could be a free report, checklist, audio or video as long as it’s related to your niche and provides value to your prospect.

Once you have your marketing funnel in place, drive targeted traffic to your lead magnet offer, then making the sale becomes much easier. Don’t complicate the process. Just follow a proven process and you are more likely to succeed.
